St. Mungos ~August 29, 2025~

Yes, basically the Hospital at August 29, 2025.

Darien appeared in the entrance hall of St Mungos, as busy as usual with a variety of strange magical ailments.

The Healer appeared after him.

"Hmm... they should be just about here." The healer said. "Oh there they are."

Sure enough Nicolas was carrying Diana before a stretcher appeared before him. He placed her there gently and was pushed away a small armada of healers.

Nicolas and the Senior Healer went after them.

Then another Healer appeared beside Darien. "What happened?" She said nodding to the direction of the Casillas. She was just about his age, perhaps a couple of years younger.

Darien blinked. "She-Stress...there was an argument and she just...fainted..."

The Healer nodded. She'd short chopped hair and a friendly sort of tone. "I'm Jackie by the way, Jackie Hermer. I work with Diana," she nodded at the direction that Diana went not a few moments ago. "And your her husband aren't you?"

Darien literally jumped. "No!...no." His tone changed from surprised and defensive to cold in the short pause between the two denials.

"He's that way." He jabbed a finger after Nick.

Jackie should her head. "Her first husband. You're Darien Vaight aren't you? I've seen your pictures in her locker... not that I've been sneaking around her locker or anything like that." She added defensively.

Darien blinked. "...Yeah, I am. Or was. Whichever."

He glanced after the disappearing Diana and then back to the Healer. "And if you're going to rant at me about what a bad person I am, for God's sake just spit it out."

Jackie shrugged. "Why would I do that? You're here aren't you? Obviously you're not as bad as you make yourself out to be. The fact that you're guilty about it only proves it."

"I'm not guilty!" The words sounded as false as a political speech about global warming. ((Sorry, it HAD to be said. I just find the idea of global warming hilariously mockable. Mostly cos science proves it false :L))

"Anyway, he threatened me. Because it's clearly all my fault." He snarled, sounding as bitter as Scrooge meeting the Ghost of Christmas Dinner. ((It's a turkey. I call him Franklin.))

"Uh uh," Jackie nodded but it was clear that she didn't believe a word he said. She took out her magical clip board and looked at it for a moment. "I can tell you what room they'll end up putting her in."

Darien hesitated. She might not want him there...Nick wouldn't...But...What if...

"Please..."

Why did you say that? Who said you could say that?! We weren't done debating the pros and cons! What are you, crazy?! What use is a mental discussion, somewhat similar to schizophrenia, if you don't listen to it? Or even wait for it to finish?!
It's an everyday thing, it gets dull.
Shut up impulses, who asked you?!

Jackie torn a small piece of paper out and handed it to Darien. "Here," she said. "She's probably not there yet but you could see. From what I could tell, her condition wasn't as serious as it could have been so she might already be there. And don't worry about Nicolas, he's probably filling out endless stack of forms."

"...Thanks." Darien glanced at the paper and began to walk.

This time, his mind was too busy fuming to complain. And most of it was giving these ridiculous impulses the silent treatment.

So, after a while, he arrived outside Diana's door...Still unsure what exactly he was doing there...

Diana had been dozing lightly before she heard the door open. She was very much alone in her room. Being a Healer, she was given a Private Room with no qualms whatsoever. And Jackie had been right, Nicolas was off somewhere filling out dozens and dozens of forms.

However, with the door opening, Diana realised there was someone in the room. Too tired to handle Nicolas she pretended to sleep.

Darien peered around the door.

She was asleep.

Good. He thought to himself. She probably needed her strength...or something.

Unsure, he loitered in the doorway for a moment then wandered over to the bedside.

He sighed. "What am I doing here?..." He muttered quietly to himself.

Diana was expecting to hear Nicolas' voice and as such she was shocked to hear Darien's and she dropped all pretenses of being asleep. "Darien?" She said softly. Her throat was parched.

Darien jumped. So she wasn't asleep after all.

"...Yeah." Suddenly, he felt a lot more awkward.

"Uh...do you need some water or something?" He blurted out, noticing the change in her voice.

"yea..." Diana said but decided it was more effective to nod.

Darien blundered over to grab a bottle of water, conveniently nearby.

He removed the cap and held it out to her. "Here." He attempted a smile.

Diana smiled in thanks and drank a bit of water. When she was done, she placed it on the bedside table.

"What are you doing here?" She made it seemed like she was just curious, carefully masking her true emotions.

Darien shrugged. "I just...Your Healer directed me up here."

"That'll probably be Jackie." Diana replied with a smile. "She's a tendency to do these sort of things."

Darien nodded. "Yeah...And she knew who I was. It was quite scary really." He half-smiled, attempting a joke.

Diana smiled. She felt an immense sense of familiarity that made her realise that they were together no longer. This saddened her intensity and she decided that she would not do this, could not do this... whatever it was.

"Darien," Diana said her emotions sparking. "What are you doing here?"
