Duel Practise

Amy's snake fought the newly dubbed Salaric while Aiden's advanced on Darien and Diana.

"What you going to do Darien?" asked Aiden with a laugh.

Darien kept glancing between the oncoming snake and Salaric.
"Immobulus." He cast at the snake, his eyes flicking back to his newly named Salaric.
"Salaric! Watch out!"
He decided to let Salaric deal with the other snake...He didn't want to hurt his own snake. "Come on Salaric! You can do it!" He shouted at the snake, which ignored him.

"Impedimenta!" Diana shouted at the twins as the snakes battled.

Amy put up a shield a second to late and the curse caught her partially on the arm causing it to sting.

Aiden winced.
"Watch it sis"

"Everte Statum" he sent back.

Darien was thrown backwards and landed on his back, wand rolling out of his hand.
He rolled over and grabbed it, groaning as he moved his back.
"That is going to bruise."
He cast protective charms again and noticed Salaric seemed to be in trouble. He was moving slowly, as though in pain.
"Salaric! Carpe retractum." He pulled Salaric towards him, and pointed his wand at Amy's snake. "Confringo."

Amy shrugged when her snake burst into flames.

Aiden aimed his wand at Diana.

"Confundo"

Darien shut his eyes instictivly, praying that his protective charms would deflect the jinx. Unfortunantly, Salaric had wound himself around Darien's neck and was hit by the spell.
The snake wobbled and fell onto the floor.
"Salaric!" Darien knelt down next to the snake. "Salaric, speak to me!"
He pointed his wand at the twins and shouted. "Stupefy!"
The spell completely missed both twins and hit the person lurking in the doorway.
Ana swore as the spell hit her and she fell over in the doorway.
Darien, you are dead!
Darien winced at the venom in her thoughts.
"Uh-oh..."

Diana was able to shout, "Petrificus Totalus!" to Aiden, just as she dodged the Confundo Charm sent before her.

Amy was ready and deflected the petrifing curse.

Aiden having seen Dariens spell hit Ana asked "Ana are you alright over there?" before sending a spell back.

"Avis"

Darien muttered the counter spell and aimed carefully. It hit Ana, and he turned back to the duel, in time to see Diana send a jinx at Aiden.
Ana's eyes were blazing with anger as she scrambled to her feet and sat down at the sidelines, casting protective wards around her to avoid getting hit by spells.
As soon as the duel finished, she was going to make her dear brother pay.

"Immobulus!" Diana cast as the birds came at her.

Diana stopped for a moment to check if Darien's victim was alright.

Ana sent her death glare at Darien who flinched.
"You are so dead Darien Vaight..." She called across to him, anger echoing in every syllable.
"Ana, you're interupting practise, something you were very keen to do-"
Her eyes blazed. Darien shut up, surprisingly quickly.
"I am not the one who aims at doors and stuns the first personto walk through! It would've been better if you'd at least bothered to aim for me, rather than some pathetic accident which you'll expect to get away with! I swear, the moment you are finished, you will pay! I am not like you brother, I don't slink away and cower in a corner if someone attacks me! I am like father, and if you notice, NOBODY messes with my dad!"
"Well at least I didn't inherit the Vaight temper!" Darien shouted back.
Ana's eyes gleamed for a moment, a spark of evil appearing and growing brighter. Her mouth smirked. "I wouldn't believe that if I were you. At least the rest of the family can control it, at least some of the time."
Darien winced. Ana's smirk widened. "What's the matter Darien? Afraid I will stun you again?" She snorted. "I could beat you easily. And if I recall correctly, I already have."
Darien snarled. "That wasn't fair..."
"Someone's a sore loser, does it add insult to injury that I was seven? Those two years age difference didn't seem to be such a plus for you after all."
Darien barely had time to register Ana's wand was in her hand before a red light knocked him backwards onto the floor. Ana grinned and lowered her wand slowly.
"Now we're even."

"Hey!" Diana shouted. "That was uncalled for! It was an accident. Honestly who in their right mind would go into a room with people dueling?!"

Ana rolled her eyes, the spark vanishing.
"Forgive me for having faith that you four would be able to aim."
Darien non-verbally cast the counter and sat up. "Leave it Diana, she always a little version of my father."
Ana faked hurt. "You make that sound like a bad thing!"
Darien stood up, wand ready. "In my book, it is."
"Your book?" Ana pretended to be puzzled. "But I didn't know you could read, let alone write anything..."

"Stop it!" Diana said. "Honestly, you should have more respect for your brother."

The twins said nothing, personally they thought Ana had a right to be angry.

"My money is on Ana, wow she is angry" thought Aiden to Amy.

"I want to keep my money thank you"

The twins continued to observe and be ready if either of the siblings lost it and went to far.

"And honestly, I don't care." Ana shrugged. "He's only my brother, we're barely related really."
Darien rolled his eyes. "She has never respected me. It's not what a real Vaight would do is is sis?"
"I would, if you earned it."
"How do you suggest I do that?" Darien folded his arms.
Ana leaned forwards. "Stop. Being. Such. A. Gryffindor."
Darien sighed. "Stop. Being. Dad."
Ana rolled her eyes. "Well you aren't exactly doing a great job."
"What's that supposed to mean?!"
"Think Darien! The entire family and clan is looking to you to be the perfect heir, a brilliant Vaight, a true Slytherin! And what do you show them? An uncontrollable Gryffindor! You could at least act the part! Would that be so hard for you?"
"Like you do I suppose."
Ana's gaze was cold. "I exaggerate. Difference. And it shouldn't always fall to me!"
"What?" Darien was confused.
Ana was annoyed. "All the pressure. The entire family has given up on you! You might as well be already disowned! Now it all falls to me, the youngest, the daughter, to uphold everything! Every single expectation now rests on my shoulders, in addition to those I already had as eldest daughter, only daughter, youngest child, and the similarity to my father!"
A tiny amount of tears created a sheen over her eyes. her voice was emotionless.
"You complain my being perfect makes you look bad. But I have to be perfect. I have to be perfect so I can clear up your mess! I am always clearing up your mess!"
A door appeared behind Ana and she turned and ran through it. The door slammed behind her. "Thank you, Room of Requirement."
Darien sighed. "Shout that last rant one more time Ana, I'm not sure the deaf guy at the other end of Hogsmeade quite heard you..."

"She said Gryffindor like it was a bad thing..." Diana said folding her arms.

"Well, well, well," Nicolas said. "If it isn't the Slytherin club."

Darien spun around.
"Pony-boy. What the hell are you doing here? And give me one reason why I shouldn't make you wish you weren't..."

"Chill Lobo," Nicolas said raising his hands up. "I was just walking by when I heard the screaming contest. I decided to see what it was."

"Nicolas, just go away." Diana said.

"Diana?" Nicolas said. "What the hell are you doing with all of these Slytherins? Oh yeah, I forgot, your dating one of them. Tell me, does Abuelo still give you chocolates?"

Darien snarled.
"Leave her alone. Still sore that I beat you? And I though you'd enjoy the alone time with your wardrobe..."
Next time, we need to specify that he can't come in... Darien thought to the twins.
Who?- Ana's thoughts bubbled before she cut them off, swearing inwardly. She was ignoring Darien, why did he have to keep thinking so loudly.
Since you ask, Pony-boy.
What that crazy Nick kid? Just deal with him already, stop being so pathetic. Break his leg or something. That should fix him...I'm still not talking to you by the way. Ana thought, before blocking off mental communication and wandering into the corridors. But her curiosity was too great, and she found herself trekking back to the seventh floor and the room of requirement.

"You didn't beat me in anything, Lobo." Nicolas said. "Did you really think I'd go through with it? Honestly Darien, your more stupid then I thought."

"Nicolas just go." Diana commanded.

Nicolas shrugged. "Fine, see you later."

"This isn't over Viaght."

"Far from it, Horseykins. Oh, and watch out for my sister, she bites."
Ana smirked, lurking outside the door. Sibling rows were forgotten as she planned to shame her family's enemy.

"Darien, just ignore him, he's just an idiot sometimes." Diana said sighing.

"I heard that Diana." Nicolas said as he walked out the door. "Well? Come back to scream some more?"

Ana smiled, a smile without humour.
"Darien requested I show you the door. Here it is. Say hi...if you can."
She folded her arms.
"Although, considering you fell for the whole family arguement thing, I doubt you can manage to be coherent...even with a simple word."
Are you sure you're not Dad's clone? Only he woudl be evil enough to try a bluff like that-
And he'd get away with it Darien.

Ana flicked a stray strand of hair out of her face and raised an eyebrow.
"Take your time Casillas, no rush."
Sarcasm dripped from her voice as she slammed the door in his face, smirking arrogantly.
