Kaminski Manor ~ Sveta and Dracovan’s connected Bedroom, Bathroom, and Nursery

Svetlana lay in peaceful slumber beside her husband, curled into his warmth. In the five months since having her first child, the witch had almost completely returned to her former figure. While Dracovan might not have been able to tell the difference, though perhaps he was just being nice about it, Sveta certainly could! The Russian witch would not consider herself the clingy type yet at the same time her sleeping form included an arm draped upon the man she’d fallen in love with, and hoped to grow old with. Though... she hoped the growing old part was still a long way off!

Her dreams were mostly peaceful, though naturally laced with worry for her baby boy of four months when he was the focal point of her subconscious. Other times her dreams involved the baby’s charming, loving daddy... however those dreams were far too personal for her to even begin thinking about repeating. Sometimes she would awaken out of a sound sleep to approach the babe’s cribside and make sure he was still breathing. Yet on entirely different occasions she would be awakened by her princeling of a son, for any reason under the sun from being hungry to just wanting to be held.

Occasions such as now.

From a device that appeared to be a muggle baby monitor, but modified by magic to have features not normally possible for the object, came a baby’s wailing cry. A groggy head of messy brown hair rose from its position to gaze wearily at the monitor. Little four-month-old Dracovan was being downright fussy about going to and staying asleep tonight, so much so that in the witch’s mind it was high time to call in some reinforcement. Especially since she’d had the last two turns in a row.

“Mmm...” Sveta murmured as she stretched, replacing her hand upon Dracovan’s shoulder. Concentrating on staying awake long enough to get him to check on their son, she shook her husband lightly. “Draco...?” she queried, voice thick with sleep. “Draco, darling...?”

Dracovan slept in deep slumber at peace with the world and all who inhabited it as he soared through the mystical land of fantasy and dreams However, lately, the allure of dreamland had diminished slightly in the wizard's eyes, for all his dreams seemed to come true thanks to the woman who slept beside him, whom he hoped was in ust as much tranquility and happiness as he was. It was hard to believe that it had been nearly two years that he had met Sveta, fallen in love with her, and eventually married her. Not a day went by when he didn't thank whatever deity existed and allowed him to have met his wife, who he was sure was a gift from above.

It seemed that the Deity had been particularly generous, for not only was he married to the love of his life; they were blessed with a son as well. Dracovan's "Mini-Me", as the child was lovingly called. While he had never in the past envisioned himself as a father, or even desired such a role, the wizard had to admit, he enjoyed every moment of it. It was hard to pinpoint the exact moment he had begun thinking about children of his and Sveta's own, but he wanted to say it was roughly around the time Lara had been born and Sveta had held their brand new niece for the first time. There was something about the image of his then-fiancée holding a baby that caused a change for the wizard. He began imagining Sveta holding their own baby, how beautiful she would look pregnant with their child, the glow of motherhood illuminating her features. He even imagined, and got a kick out of imagining her decked out in the ridiculous maternity gear his sister had gagged at and transfigured beyond the original overly ruffled designed.

Still soaring through dream world, he groaned softly in his sleep at his wife's touch. "Five more minutes, Gramps. Five minutes and I swear I'll be up and at 'em." he mumbled, his sleep-addled mind causing him to think he was once again a teen sleeping in.

It took several moments for Sveta in her sleepy mind to process the information received. But when she did, she groaned and plopped her head upon her husband’s shoulder. This would likely require some ingenuity on her part... something a brain only half-awake didn’t generally put out at this hour of the night or morning. Svetlana wasn’t quite sure which one it was at the moment, and didn’t much care to learn the answer.

Her eyes begged and pleaded to allow her to slip back into dreamland that instant, but her ears were in an uproar about the possibility so long as the child still cried. The monitor wasn’t whistling with its ‘emergency’ alarm, so she knew it thankfully wasn’t a matter of life or death. ’Hold on, little vone... Daddy vill check on you, vonce he’s avake,’ she thought, hoping that in some odd illogical way the child could hear her thoughts and understand them.

A smile came to the witch’s face as an idea came to her, glaring at a clump of tangled hair that had fallen into her face. Shifting her position and groggily repositioning the offending length of hair, Svetlana leaned forward so that she was only centimeters from being nose-to-nose with her husband.

“Draco, honey...?” she called out to him in as light and ethereal a voice as she could, given the circumstances. A single finger slowly traced his features from temple to chin, mere seconds before placing her lips upon his in a tender kiss.

One way or another, Sveta was determined to wake him up.

Within the border of fantasy and reality, Dracovan's sleep-addled mind didn't quite allow him to register with events of present-day. In fact, lost between slumber and alertness, the fact that he was a fully grown adult with a wife and family of his own was lost on him, as his current mindset was of when he was in his teens.

He twitched slightly in his sleep, groaning. "Damn it, Amaranth. You just have to leave your toys everywhere, don't you? Honestly, with all the toys you leave everywhere, one would think this place was a bloody daycare center! Shut the thing off, will you..."

At the touch of lips against his, the "teenage" Dracovan panicked for a slight moment into awakeness, where the present-day Dracovan joined him instantly as he returned the kiss, well-aware that it was his wife kissing, and not some pure-blood based nightmare from hell coming to life. "Morning, love." A sleepy eye opened and glanced at the clock. "A rather early morning, it seems."

He yawned loudly, wrapping his arms around Sveta as he glanced at the baby monitor. "Hmm... Looks like Mini-Me's up early..." he noted with mild amusement as he began drifting back to sleep.

Despite not being fully awake herself, Sveta couldn’t help but giggle lightly in amusement at the comment regarding her sister-in-law. Curiosity filled her mind as to what sort of dreamworld her husband had stumbled upon, though took a guess that it was of his childhood due to the talk of toys being everywhere.

Sveta only half regretted kissing her husband awake because he seemed to have been startled from perhaps a pleasant dream. Yet, on the other hand, it was her favorite way to wake him, aside from the fact that she’d been awakened from two rather dreams. In her frame of mind Dracovan needed a turn to check on the baby. She loved her husband and her baby boy dearly, and woe betide anyone that thought otherwise! However, Svetlana also preferred to get at least some sleep.

Her regrets melted away at the returned kiss, glad that he wasn’t at all disgruntled at being awakened. ’Then again, he hasn’t seen the time...’ she mused to herself.

“Morning,” she replied, unable to dispel a slight amount of guilt at his comment of it being rather early. The witch leaned into her husband’s embrace, not really cold yet delighting at the warmth within his arms: it felt as heavenly as though Dracovan were covering her with a warm blanket after a long snowball fight. She chortled at his observation regarding their son. “Yes... he’s been up and down all night it seems...” she murmured tiredly.

“Vould you be a dear and check on him for me? Please?” she asked sweetly, placing a quick kiss upon his chin followed by a second, longer kiss once more upon his lips.
