The Arboretum – Wand Tree Collection (Located Near the Greenhouses)

[All that approach come face-to-face with a signpost that reads:

Ethan meandered about the arboretum clad in his usual brightly tye-dyed robes, a winter cloak, scarf, gloves, and a black knitted beanie covering three-quarters of his long-ish blond hair. Though the trees were long since shorn of their leaves, with the exception of the evergreens, Ethan still enjoyed walking through these woods.

Two small pouches hung around his neck. In the first was a supply of fairy eggs, and the second contained woodlice. Since some considered winter to be the perfect time for gathering wand wood - under the assumption that bowtruckles migrate or hibernate during this season - Ethan found out from personal experience that, if anything, the little buggers were awake and even more protective of their trees despite the cold.

Squinting at a nearby branch, Ethan adjusted his glasses and couldn't help but chuckle when he noticed a bowtruckle standing guard upon the branch of a holly bush. "I thought you'd be out and about today..." he muttered.

Kiara walked into the Arboretum, for two reasones, she needed the wand woods four the ash weave, and warn Ethan of the danger he was in.

She looked and felt merserable, the death of the unicorn had wighed on her mind, but it was something she had to do. So she did...

Sighing she walked over to Ethan, ignoring the bitting cold on her face. She was still numb over that she could ignore it for now.

"Ethan?" she asked as she aproched.

"I need to talk with to for a moment, it is important"...

"Hmm?" Ethan asked, starting a bit as he turned around. "Oh - Kiara! Spooked me a minute there..." he instantly began chattering, though slowed to a halt as he processed precisely what she'd said.

"Important?" he inquired, glancing about the woods for a moment as though he were expecting someone to jump out from behind one of them. Satisfied he wasn't about to get another scare, Ethan focused his bespectacled brown eyes on Kiara and scrutinized her closely. "Are you quite all right? Forgive me for saying so but you look absolutely dreadful! Would you care for some fresh echinacea and chamomile tea? I could make you some..." he offered gently.

Kiara smiled and shook her head "No I am fine Ethan thank you" thought of food and drink made her feel sick. She could not keep anything down if her stomach got its way.

"It has just been a long day, I will need these woods, willow, oak, chestnut, and holly. Not much just, a branch from each if that is alright. They are needed for a potion" she explained.

She would tell him about the list after.....

Ethan looked a bit doubtful at her statement of being fine, but nodded nonetheless. As she went on to explain what she needed, though, the smile was back on his face. "Well, this certainly is the right place for it, isn't it? The holly is just over here, in fact. Though... we have a teensy little guard that might be upset with that idear," he chatted and removed one of the pouches from around his neck. The wizard handed it to her with a grin.

"You'll need these - fairy eggs. For the bowtruckles. Didn't think you'd be too keen on having wood lice in a pouch round your neck..." Ethan explained and headed for the bush, gesturing that Kiara was more than welcome to join him.

"Might be good if one of us distracts this little bugger... while the other gets the wood you need..." he suggested in a low tone, pointing out the bowtrucke that had spotted them and was eying them suspiciously.

Kiara sighed and smiled as he handed her the fairy eggs.

"Thanks" she said softly as she followed him to the holly bush.

When he pointed of the bowtrucke she sighed "Its never easy is it?" she asked.

"Which ever you prefer Ethan, though if you already know how to disract it I would welcome the help, I am afraid my mind is a bit of a blur at the moment to think of a good Idea to disract them" she warned.

Because Ethan was pretty much oblivious to the reason for Kiara's worries, he chuckled in an attempt to lighten the mood. "Oh, they're all right," he murmured, though the bowtruckle in question looked to be anything but friendly.

"Kiara, I've been distracting the little blighters since I was five," Ethan laughed and removed the pouch from around his neck. Opening it, he shook out some wood lice onto the branches in a trail for the bowtruckle to follow. Once the woodland creature took interest in this "treasure hunt" of sorts, Ethan nodded to Kiara to let her know she could start harvesting what she needed from the bush's woody branches.

Kiara quickly went in to the holly bush and grabed a handfull of wood, casting a svering charm on the sticks of wood she pulled them out.

Then she stuck them in her rodes.

"I got them Ethan, that is one down" she said.

"Good, good!" Ethan replied with a grin and immediately stopped the trail of woodlice. The bowtruckle looked up at him in annoyance, as though it expected to be given a never-ending supply of the 'treat'.

"Do you want to gather the rest of the wood as a team, or shall we split up? The willow is to the south... oak's right over here -" the wizard gestured to a tree not more than twelve feet away, "...And I think the chestnut is... erm... in a general... 'that-way' direction..." he explained, pointing slightly off from due west.

Kiara smiled in amusment as Ethan cheery aditiude, but it sadden her to be the one to tell him some very bad news.

"I think we should split up and get them, time is limited and I still need to talk to you about something" she said

"If you can get the chesnut, I will get the Oak and willow?" she asked.

Ethan nodded in agreement. "Very well then. Shall we meet at the willow or at one of the green'ouses?" he asked in return.

"Oh: and if the bowtruckles give ya trouble, try givin' 'em a fairy egg or three - they love those!" Ethan added happily and took a few steps in the general direction of the chestnut tree, though waited to hear Kiara's reply in regards to a meeting place.

Kiara thought for a moment, there chat after this would be better suited in doors, and sitting down.

'The green houses would be best, or your office if possible, event better' she answered. before heading over to the oak tree in a effort to gather a sample of wood.

She was able to get the oak wood with out a problem, a simple severing charm and she had a small branch in her hand.

She ran in to a few Bowtruckles at the willow, but a few fairy eggs later and she had enough wood for the weave.

"Office it is, then," Ethan replied kindly and trotted off to get the chestnut wood she needed. By the time he got there, coaxed a dozen bowtruckles from the branches, and acquired the wood, he was fairly certain Kiara would surely have acquired her woods and would be making her way to his office by now. He had no idea what she needed the wood for, but if she didn't feel like telling then who was he to pry?

Ethan stood at one of the stations set up to provide warming spells to any passing within its range, a mug of hot chocolate snugly grasped between woolen-gloved hands. A heavy navy blue cloak covered his usual brightly-festooned robes, and a black knitted hat covered his blonde-ish head. Beside him stood two crates. One was partially full from his own and previous classes’ practical exercise in Herbology, while the second was very much empty. A third crate hovered at the warming and hot chocolate station. The contents therein included several sealed paper cups labeled ‘pixie eggs’ and ‘woodlice’. All that was needed now were the students and the class could begin.

Raven taking notice of the relocation of the herbology class she went inside the woods and met up with Professor Addams. She was wearing her Slytherin scarf and gloves, but that didn't stop the cold to give her the chills. As she stepped forward she was excited to drink some hot chocolate, but she wanted to make her presence known first before anything.

"Hello Professor Addams," Raven greeted, her warm breath escaped and was visible in the chilling air.

Ethan beamed at the greeting. He immediately took in the color-code of Slytherin and found it a good thing Amaranth had not discouraged all of her serpents from a field so inextricably linked to part of her own. “Hello!” he replied, a puff of warm breath escaping him and hovering heavenwards in the crisp and frigid air. “Terribly sorry about the change... tis dreadfully chilly today. Do help yourself to whatever you’d like there,” Ethan added, nodding towards the varied hot chocolate and tea options, hands still far too cold to take away from the steaming mug.

“Did you have a delightful holiday?”

When the professor offered something warm to drink she nodded a thanks and didn't hesitate one bit and chose a warm cup of hot chocolate. She gave a small sip and warmed up immediately.

"My holiday was pleasant, nothing special, how about yours?" She asked being kind to the professor. If it wasn't for the hot chocolate warming her up instead of her freezing her mood would of been a bit more snappy.
