Darien grunted as he heard a sound.
"Wasssas...too...earligib..." He literally fell out of bed and crawled down to the door. "Oozar?"

Diana giggled at her husband's sleepy state and put on a robe before she too went down. Who in the world would come knocking at this hour.

"It's Kelly Hemmerton," the voice from the other side said. "I am from Wizarding Child Services."

"No children ere...pwanks not fwunny..." Darien's head collided with the floor and he groaned. "wa hour oocall 'his anywayzzzz?"

Diana again laughed at Darien, she helped him get up.

"Five," the man on the other side of the door side. "Sir, please open your door, there are children out here."

Darien stumbled blearily. "F-F-FIVE!? Wadda ya-ya crazee...you lousy..."

"Kidz outta der? Bud, we avn neneekids...Wong ouse..." ((Kids out there? Buddy, we don't have any kids...wrong house))
But he managed to open the door, peering into the dark. "Uh...Oo Earlee..."

"Are you Mr. and Mrs. Vaight?" Mr. Hemmerton said reading off from a piece of paper.

"Yes we are." Diana said getting a bad feeling at the pit of her stomach. Mr. Hemmerton was carrying a sleeping Elizabeth Casillas and holding a very fearful Fitzwilliam by the hand.

"Fitz!" Diana said surprised. "Mr. Hemmerton... what's wrong?"

Mr. Hemmerton didn't reply immediately. Instead he said, "Let's get these children inside first shall we?"

"Of course," Diana said. "Come here Fitz..."

Fitz silently went to Diana. "Darien, get Eliza from Mr. Hemmerton."

"Ewiza, comere." He reached out and plucked her from Hemmerton's arms. He poked her nose and she giggled, before dozing off again.
"How come she getsoo sleepan I don't?" He was becoming more awake...and understandable.

"Darien," Diana said. "Put them in the guest room so that they can sleep."

She closed the door and turned to Mr. Hemmerton.

"Alright." Darien grabbed Fitz's hand.
"Comon guys, lets go explore."
Eliza giggled in his arms and smiled down at her brother.

"Mr. Hemmerton, please sit down." Diana said. "Would you like anything to drink?"

"Oh no Mrs. Vaight, I'm quite alright thank you. Beautiful home you have here..."

"Thank you." Diana replied.

"Yes, I'm afraid... I have terrible news." Mr. Hemmerton looked at Diana somberly.

Darien waved his wand and a cot appeared for Eliza. He placed her in it and levitated it next to the bed.
"Hey Will...Come here buddy." He picked up the boy and sat him on his lap. He glanced at the sleeping Eliza.
"Doesn't she look sweet?" He asked the young boy. "You've got to look after her when she's older...be the older brother and all that. I should know, I have a little sister too." He smiled.

Fitz remained silent but nodded. He held on to Darien.

"News?" Diana said her heart sinking. She had a bad feeling about this.

"I'm afraid... your Uncle Armando has been..." Mr. Hemmerton paused. "Has been killed."

As the words left Mr. Hemmerton's mouth, Diana felt has if a bus just ran over her. "What? How, when?"

"He was killed by Purgers just last night." Mr. Hemmerton said solemnly.

"The children..." Diana managed to say. She felt tears threatening to fall.

"Yes, you are the god Parents of Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam..." Mr.Hemmerton said. "They go to you... Unless, you'd rather not. It is a lot to ask, another arrangement can be fixed."

"Oh no," Diana said. "No, they can stay here. Darien and I would be... we'd be more than happy to."

"So buddy, what's your favourite quidditch team? Music group? Favourite colour of socks?" Darien gave the boy a hug, realising he probably needed a distraction from whatever had happened that involved him being awake right now...

"So that settles it then," Mr. Hemmerton said. "Young Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth will be staying with you."

Diana merely nodded, not necesarily trusting her voice.

"Good, I'll sent the papers first thing in the morning..." Mr. Hemmerton then realized it was morning. "Later on today."

Again Diana nodded.

"Well I'd best be going now." Mr. Hemmerton said. "Terribly sorry about all of this.... the children, your uncle..."

Yet again Diana nodded.

Mr. Hemmerton headed to the door.

"Good day to you Mrs. Vaight."

".... day.." Diana said lamely. Before she closed the door behind Mr. Hemmerton and headed upstairs.

"Where's Daddy?" Fitzwilliam said, his little voice trembling.

Darien paused, glanced around for Diana.
He met her gaze and noticed her sadness. He winced. Apparently his fear had just been confirmed...

"Fitz why don't you go to bed?" Diana suggested gently to the boy.

"I don't want to. I'm not sleepy." Fitz said stubbornly.

Diana sighed and stood by Darien. They could talk later.

"Okay then." Darien put on a excessively happy voice. "I'm not tired either. Hey Fitz, what do you think of this?"
He summoned his wand from his room and waved it, changing the whole room to colourful wallpaper and floorboards, and a bouncy castle appeared in the corner.

Fitzwilliam looked around interested in what he saw. He headed slowly to the castle.

Diana couldn't help but slightly smile at Darien's attempt at cheering up the boy.

Eliza woke up from a bad dream.
"AHHHH! Fwitzy! Fwitzy!"

Darien jumped and fell off the bed in shock. He stood up and picked up the screaming child. "Shhh...It's okay...Diana, help me!" He held out the screaming child, who latched onto Diana's arm.

Diana carried Eliza on her arms. "Shhh... Eliza it's okay... we're here. Fitz is right there, see? Right next to the castle." She cooed.

Eliza's sobs slowed and she peered over Diana's arm. "Fwitzy...Want Fwitzy...Want my brudder..."
Darien decided to occupy himself with charming the ceiling, so it showed a starry sky, that rotated and moved.

"I'm here, Eliza...." Fitz said turning his back on the castle and nearing his sister. "I'm here."

Diana sat down with Eliza still in her arms so Fitz would be able to talk to his sister.

"Look Eliza, a castle!" Fitz said as he touched Eliza's hand.

Eliza slowly stopped crying and clenched her strong fingers around Fitz's. "Brudder..." She perked up at the sight of the castle. "Wastle! Wastle!"
Darien laughed. "See, I knew castles were a good idea! Look Eliza, look!"
He ran over and jumped up and down on the bouncy castle, which somehow held the big kid's weight.
Eliza gurgled happily. "Me likey."
She slipped onto the bed and grabbed Diana by a finger, still holding Fitz's hand. "Bowncy wiv me! Fwitzy, Dwana and Dar-Dar bowncy!"

"Oh no Eliza," Diana said apologetically. "I feel a little ill right now... you and Fwitzy go right ahead."

"Come on Eliza," Fitz cheered on.
