Abraxas' Study

((December, 2018))

Abraxas sat back in the luxurious office chair, reading a letter from one of his buddies in the same division of the Auror Department as he. It was filled with good tidings, a bit of mystery, news that the wizard's wife just had a baby not more than a week ago, and other topics of conversation. In total it was a 2-roll of parchment-long letter. With a wistful glance at the computer behind him, Abraxas wished more wizards would embrace facets of Muggle technology. Despite not having magic in their veins, they did have something to offer to the world.

"Where to begin...?" the wizard sighed.

Eglantine gently pushed open the door, in animagus form, with her nose. Most of the doors in the house were charmed to be light enough to push open with a paw or a beak. Along with the fact that the indoor doors did not catch...being swing doors.
She padded across the study carpet and began to purr as she rubbed her furry body up against Abraxas' legs. His muttered sigh worried her slightly as she disliked seeing him overworked and stressed and she carefully leapt up into his lap.

Abraxas hadn't heard the door swing open, so caught up in the blank sheet of parchment before him in an attempt to compose a reply letter. Then there were the case files to go over, and a few profiles to compile for the Department. He'd been put on fairly-light duty ever since the battle with Tom Riddle, but had sent an owl to his superiors asking for more active roles within his skill. He'd gladly take the tests over to check his reflexes if that were the case, but he had yet to hear back from said supervisor.

His mind broke from the train of thoughts when he felt a certain feline against his legs. Knowing that Kiara wasn't here at the time being, Abraxas concluded that that had to be Eglantine. Sevastyan's form was much too bulky not to mention that would've been ... very odd, to say the least.

No: there were no white tigers crammed under his desk. Or black panthers.

Therefore, he smiled when a cream-colored tabby leapt into his lap. He immediately stroked the soft fur. "Ah, Μελι - what a pleasant surprise!" he exclaimed quietly and happily. "I've word from Johnson today, and he was asking how we all were," Abraxas explained, retrieving the received letter and showing it to her. Johnson was one of the aurors that had been under his command the day they'd rescued Eglantine and a two-year-old Kiara.

Eglantine purred in response, rubbing the top of her head against his chin. Her front paws set down on the desk, she pushed up slightly to read the parchment. No doubt a humorous site... as most feline's refrain from reading letters...
