Tav and Kaylie McConn's Place ( Dark future May 12th 2035)

Kaylie McConn, very pregnant Kaylie McConn sat in bed reading a book, is was May 12 and evening around Sunset.

She was one day short of 9 months pregnant, she could go into labour any time now, hence why she was taking it easy at the moment. Trying to keep her nerves about having a baby and hoping things went smoothly. Horrible What if’s haunted her constantly, what it the doctor they got was late, she went on delivering the baby without him? What if something went wrong and something happened to the baby?

She sighed and looked down at her large round abdomen, moving her hand gently over it she again prayed to Merlin that her baby son would be alright.

She went back to reading again after another sigh, however she started feeling uncomfortable as what felt like a cramp assaulted her for a few good minutes. She sat up her heart skipped a beat she wasn’t sure… it might have been a starting contraction or it may not. She bit her lip and sat up on the pillows, she nervously waited for a bit to see if it would come back.. After ten minutes and nothing came back she shock her head thinking it a false alarm and that it was nothing.

However 5 minutes later a slightly stronger pain caught her off guard and made her gasp as she sat up and supported her back on the pillows. Taking a shuddering breath she waited out the wave of pain..
Perhaps these weren’t nothing… Becoming nervous again she waited to see if they came back a third time.. 10 minutes.. 11 minutes.. 12...

And a stronger pain then either time before assaulted her, she groaned in pain as the third regular contraction made it’s self known.. She waited for it to end before clenching the bedpost and pulling her self up and to the door.

This was it.. She was going into labour, that just confirmed it.. She needed to find Tav, and tell him to contact the Doctor he picked out.. It was time… the baby was coming and quickly. She couldn’t stop her arms and hands from shaking either from fright or nervousness, likely both with a hint of excitement. She was to be a mother very soon now… she could quite literally feel it.

Keeping her hands on the door fame, Just in case another contraction hit unexpectedly..

“T..Tav.. Could you call the Doctor now?!” She asked as loud as she could down the hall… hoping he hadn’t slipped out… if he did she would kill him… well not really but she would feel like it until he came to her side.

Rossa poked her head out of her room, “You alright Kay? It is time?” she asked going to the older woman’s side to make sure she didn’t fall.

“Yes Rossa, yes it is time” she sounding slightly winded but giving her sister in law a small smile.

“Yay, I will get your bed ready” she said running to the closet grabbing towels and blankets as she yelled Louder then Kay had “Tav! Your baby is coming!”

Tav paced the porch, plans for his life racing through his mind as he contemplating the fact that any day now he could be a father... Not that he didn't want to be a father... it was just... he was nervous.

It was natural, he knew that... but this was different. Most expectant father's didn't pace hoping that their child wouldn't know pain like they had. That his son wouldn't loose his mother... then his beloved father and step-mother... the very thought of loss sent shudders of pain up his spine.

Maybe it would be different, he tried his best to convince himself. If in the normal times that Tavish McConn had been born into had robbed him of his mother...what chance had his son? Cursing himself for his weakness and his inability to stand up and looked death in the eye, Tav took a deep breath.

“Tav! Your baby is coming!”

His eyes widened as he heard Rossa. Running into the house and then stopping, he tried to decide what to do first. Get the doctor, go to Kay... go to Kay, get the doctor... ack, why were these things so difficult!!??

Kay won.

Running into their bedroom, he rushed to her side.
"I'm here, love." he murmured, taking her hand. "It's going to be okay..." Damnation it was not going to be okay!

Kaylie Sent Tav a smile, as Rossa set up pillows and blankets around her sister in law.

She kissed his hand, a moment longer in the second one, "Thank love, now, unless you want to deliver this baby by your self, go get the doctor alright? Rossa will be with me untill you get back. Just be quick okay love? your son... is not be very patient" she said her other hand already squeezeing the pillow beside her.

"Now go.. before my hand decides it doesn't want to let you"she said giving him a kiss and another smile to reassure him.

Tav nodded like an obedient puppy, kissing her hand and then rushing for the door, picking up the muggle phone. The number was on speed dial...

"Um... I'm George Perkwar. I did to speak with Doctor Mrose." The secretary muttered something about appointments and he cursed her.
"JUST GET HIM ON THE PHONE! MY WIFE IS HAVING THE BABY!" apparently the woman was either a mother or easily frightened... because moment later he heard the doctor's soothing voice.

"I'm on my way, Mr. Perwar." she muttered. "Keep her comfortable."
"Okay." Tav nodded, hanging up and hurrying back to his wife's side.

"Doc is on her way, Kay." he assured her, kissing her forehead.

Kaylie laughed lightly as she heard Tav yell at the women on the phone, her Hero..

She sighed in relief when Tav returned to tell her the Doctor was coming. "Thank you love" she said before whimpering in pain and squeezing his hand painfully tight and her eyes shut as she took slow breaths trying to breath.

Rossa went up to Tav and patted his shoulder "She and the baby will be fine Tav, I know she will" she said in assurence knowing it was her time to leave.

Letting out a slight grown of pain Kaylie locked eyes with Tav, trying to to ignore it.

"Our baby is coming" she whispered with a hint of a smile on her face as the pain edded away. Hoping to keep her Husband focused on the baby and less on her in pain.

Tav nodded, smiling into Kay's face. It helped that Rossa was there and that Kay didn't appear to be in too much pain... well strike that... he was just wishing she wasn't in too much pain.

The doctor arrived amazingly only a few minutes after the phone call. She was a tall thin woman with mousy brown hair and kind caring brown eyes. Tav had picked her for her caring nature and gentle manners... he had only wanted the best muggle doctor possible for his wife and child.

"How far apart are the contractions, love?" she asked, gently patting Kay's hand.

Kaylie lent her head against Tav's taking in his comfort, she kept a shy eye on the muggle Doctor. She seemed nice, Tav had choosen well...

Rossa stayed by the door, just in case... she heard of fathers fainting when it got further in the labour process. She wasn't about to let Tav do that..

"Umm is it alright if I stay?" she asked, she wanted to... and perhaps she could be a moral support, and plus she was curious.. she never seen a baby being born before.

Kaylie nodded her head, she didn't mind if Rossa Stayed for the birth and she may be of some help.

"They are about 10 minutes apart now, They started about a hour ago" she said quietly her head still leaning against Tav.

The doctor nodded, taking the information to mean something... Tav wasn't sure.
"What's that mean?" he asked, worry etching in his forehead.
The woman chuckled softly.
"It means you're probably going to be a father fairly soon, young man." She quickly went to wash her hands and slipped into a sterile uniform.
"What's your name, love?" she asked.

"It is okay.. love..... our Son... merely wants to join us sooner rather then later.." Kaylie said to Tav.

"k... Lele Perkwar, Doctor" she whimpered out almost slipping out her real name.

"oh... and hear comes another one..."

Kaylie took a breath and squeezed Tav's hand agian as she felt another sharp pain, she didn't want to scream yet she knew it would get worse.. she would deal with it... she could.

Rossa observed not far from Tav, she didn't like seeing Kaylie in such pain, but she know it was worth it, and normal for having a child.

A tear rolled down Kay's cheek through her tightly closed eyes... as she breathed... no she would not scream yet...

"Okay, Lele... I don't want you to start pushing yet, okay?" The doctor instructed gently. They would wait until she was fully dilated, which was 10 cm. Otherwise there could be complications.

"You're doing beautifully..."

Tav swallowed, keeping his eyes riveted on is wife. His hand felt like Kay was about to squeeze it in two... but he knew it was worth it. The bit of pain he felt was nothing compared to what she was going through... and she was being so brave. He kissed her forehead.
"I love you..." he murmured, leaving her name off.

Kaylie nodded at what the doctor said, " Okay.." she said as she started to relax agian.

The baby was would be fast approaching... for Kaylie was already almost half way there.. 4.5 cm...

She once again lent her head on Tav, "Love you to.. sorry about your hand love" she said softly noting the purple color of her husbands fingers.

Rossa chuckled and patted her brothers shoulder agian, She was so glad her brother had someone like Kay.. she was so sweet... even while in pain..

Finally at 10 cm, the doctor gently patted "Lele"'s leg. "You can start pushing now, darling." she encouraged.

Tav smiled at Kay's apology but said nothing as the time finally came for the actual birthing process... his breath caught in his throat and he forced himself to breath.

"Remember to breath easy." the doctor reminded.

Kaylie nodded and breathed until the next contraction hit, this one was worse then the other ones and her grip in Tav's hand tighten and tightend again, and this time she screamed as the massive wave of pressure and pain went through her.

But she forced her self to push and breathe after...

She fell back into to the pillows, so tired... she wasn't sure she could do it again.

Rossa was also holding her breath, waiting for her new baby nephew to join them.

Clearing the fluid from the infant's mouth and nose, the doctor held him up after cutting the umbilical cord. A clear wail wafted from the baby's mouth and she smiled.
"You have a healthy baby boy." she announced, noting that the birth had gone well despite it duration.

Tav blinked, gently wiping Kay's forehead with a cloth. As soon as the doctor left, he and Rossa would magically vanish the blood and mess... but for now, he was simply thrilled that all had gone well.
Washing the child, the doctor carried him gently wrapped and nestled him against his mother.
"Congratulations to the both of you." she smiled. Tav smiled down at the image of his wife and baby. This was the happiest day of his life...

Kaylie held her new baby boy, her and Tav's Son was finally here, and she already loved him with all her heart. She smiled up at Tav, and then beamed to her son again.

"Hey baby, wonderful to meet you, you were sure in quite a rush to meet us eh?" she whispered. "Want to see your wonderful Daddy and Auntie?" she said tilting her arms so Tav and Rossa could get a really good look at him.

Rossa beamed and wipped away a happy tear as she kneeled beside her brother. "That was amazing" she said looking at the new born.

Leaving the small family to get to know one another, the doctor began to gather up her things, slipping off her uniform.

Tav gently touched his son's red cheek. Wrinkled like all newborns, his son was still adorable to his eyes.
"He's perfect..." he murmured, kissing Kay's forehead and wrapping an arm around his sister. "Absolutely perfect."

He wished briefly that his parents could be there to witness the birth. Kiara and Ciaran would have been thrilled to be grandparents. Brushing the thought away, he rose to thank the doctor and see her to the door. Then he would fire call Edan and Horatio. And Val.

Kaylie smiled as she kissed her baby on the forehead, "My beautiful baby boy" she whispered leaning her head on a side pillow, tired but never more happy.

Rossa smiled, "So decided on a name yet then?" she asked.

(In a after life)

Kiara wipped a tear from her face with a smile on her lips, she felt so happy and proud of her Step son once again.

"He is going to be a great father, just like his Da. I am so proud of him, and Kaylie did wonderfuly... I wish I could be there" she said.

She truely hoped Tav knew how proud she was of him....

Tav chuckled, hugging Rossa against him.
"Caleb Sevastyan, right?" he asked, fairly certain that was the name Kay wanted, but wanting her to affirm it. He liked the name, including the Sevastyan, although he had teased his wife about it...

(After Life as well)

Ciaran wrapped his arms around his wife, glancing over her shoulder at his grandson, Kay, Tav and Rossa.

"They are looking happy, aye?" he chuckled, kissing her forehead. "We are there, Ara." he whispered. "In their hearts."

Kaylie nodded smiling, "Yes, Caleb Sevastyan McConn.. I like it... and Caleb with a "C" in honor of your Dad" she said to Rossa.

Rossa hugged Tav back, So glad he was so happy and that Kaylie and Caleb were alright.

Kaylie smiled again and looked at Tav, "Want to hold your Son love?" she asked tilting her arms again for Tav to take hold of the newly born infant.

"He'd like that..." Tav smiled. "So, welcome to the world, Caleb Sevastyan McConn... Your mum and dad really love you. So does Auntie Rossa." he added, chuckling.

Nodding, he gently took the tiny baby, awed by the delicate miracle in his arms. Brushing his finger against the child's cheek, he sighed. So this was how his father had felt when he had been born... such responsibility and love. It was heaven-sent.

Rossa smiled at her new nephew, "he looks like ya Tav, Kaylie's eyes though" she said chuckling.

Kaylie smiled, looking at her younger sister in law, husband and new born son, everything was as happy as it would get at this moment.. For the moment free of the darkness of the world.

"I would love to baby sit anytime you guys want" Rossa said obviously already in love with the new addition to their family.

"Yeah, beautiful eyes like his mother... but cursed with his father's jaw." he chuckled, kidding. A few tuffs of dark hair covered the newborn's scalp, and Tav was reminded of Kay's baby pictures, which they had chuckled and giggled over, trying to decide whether their baby would look more like Tav or Kay... it appeared a half and half had been the outcome.

"Thanks, Rossa. I'm sure we'll be thankful for that."
