Kiara McConn lay in bed, she was nine months pregnant with her and Ciaran’s second birth Child, the first she lost when she was only 6 months along.

She was hooked up to a oxygen tank even though it wasn’t near full moon but she had just recovered for a bad one, her weak lungs were just were not enough for both her and the baby now, so the oxygen helped. Kiara was sleeping, resting it was pretty much all she did in the middle of her 8th month of pregnancy, it was taking its toll on her. Needless to say when she was awake she was looking forward to the birth of the child even more. She wanted to be herself again, not always tired and in pain.

Then the pain in her back made her wake from her deep sleep, one look down and she could see her water broke.

She groaned as she sat up in the pillows, she was going into labour, and who knows how long she had slept through it, as she had gotten used to the horrible back pain she got. Pulling the mask slightly off her face, “ Ciaran..’ she attempted to call. Her voice was quiet with little use lately and short breaths a she tried to deal with the pain.

“The baby is coming.. It is time” she whispered… though she had meant to yell it the pain the breaths took way her voice.

Then a huge wave of pain went through her and finally she found her voice, “Ciaran!!” she screamed as she clenched her fist so tight her hands started to bleed.

His wife's voice usually sounded so sweet and loving... but Ciaran supposed she had ever right to scream at him as he ran for her room.
"I'm right here, darlin." he assured her, noting the tightly clenched hands and wondering how much damage she would do to his if he took them in his own. Throwing caution to the wind he took her hand. "I called the healer, she's on her way, love." he quickly murmured, kissing her forehead. Taking the oxygen mask, he slid it back over her nose and mouth.
"Take slow deep breaths..." Easier said than done he knew, but he had to try.

Kiara sqeezed Ciarans hand, though apart of her mind truely hoped she didn't cause it to much damage, she couldn't really help it at the moment.

She barely heard Ciarans careing voice through her heavely breathing and heartbeat in her ears it seemed. She was already covered in sweat, obviously already deep in to labour.

She was so tired... but she wasn't about to admit it yet, it was obvious she was no need to see it.

As one contraction ended she was able to relax for bit...

"Good... good about the Doctor love..Thanks..." she said her voice barely above a whisper again behind the O2 mask.

However her biref relief of pain was short lived as another contraction over came her once agian, she groaned and tried to breathe once again .

Ciaran nodded, conjuring a cloth to wipe the perspiration from her forehead. He hated to see her in so much pain but it was a natural process of childbirth and with that in mind he bore it with only her in mind.

The healer hurried in, a round plump rosy cheeked woman. Right behind her was Esis, who carried a pile of towels and blankets. Ciaran almost groaned with Esis' entry. Why had she come instead of Eglantine? What could Esis possibly do to help?

"Wow, looks like an impatient little darlin." The healer chuckled. "She's already fully dilated. You can start pushing, love." she offered. Esis went to Kiara's side, handing Ciaran yet another cloth.
"You're doing great." the older witch assured Kiara. It wasn't common knowledge but Esis had helped deliver quite a few babies.

Kiara nodded and blinked her eyes she was getting tired... beyond tired.. she wasn't sure the had the strength to push... at least the amount needed. "I.. I am not sure I can...I am so tired" she whispered.

But then need to do so took over, and she pushed with all the emergy she had, she was unsure of she has done enough, as she started to blink in and out of wakefulness....

"Yes, you can..." Esis encouraged, as Ciaran continued to hold her hand and wipe her forehead.
"Aye, lass ya can do it..." he smiled.

"She fading in and out..." Esis murmured, looking at the healer. The other woman ignored her. "Did you hear me?"

"Aye... be patient." The healer replied as Kiara pushed. Casting a spell over the tired woman's body, she caused the contractions to grow subtly stronger, until they took over allowing Kiara to rest. Finally the baby crowned. Smiling, the healer gently helped the little infant's body squeeze through.

A hearty peel of rage burst from the baby even before she had cleared her throat or nose.
"A noisy little bairn are you." The healer chuckled, cleaning the infant with a charm and handing her to Esis to wrap up. "There you are."

Esis wrapped her and gently held her up for Kiara and Ciaran to see.
"Aww... she's adorable."

Kiara gave an exhausted smile still breathing heavily, "Merlin.... She, she looks like Eglantine...." she whispered out.

Her grip loosened on Ciaran's hand, mostly becasue she lacked the energy, and then the pain wasn't nearly as bad, she was more numb now then anything. She looked at Ciaran, "I Love you" she said, her thumb moving gently over his hand.

"She.. she is okay right?" she asked making sure while trying to stay awake herself.

Ciaran gently took the infant from Esis.
"Aye, she's perfect." he whispered, laying the child in Kiara's arms, but keeping a hand under to support them.

Smiling he leaned down and kissed her lips.
"I love you too."

The healer vanished the blood on the sheets and blankets, nodding as she did so.
"Nothing wrong with her, Headmistress. You have yourself a fine healthy baby girl." Slipping her wand back into her pocket, she gently checked Kiara's pulse.
"You really should rest now."

Kiara smiled "Oh good" she said clearly relieved the child was healthy. She kissed the baby on the forehead. Before leaning her head on Ciarans shoulder.

She nodded to the doctor, she would rest weather she wanted to or not, Her blue eyes shifted to Ciaran first. "Final decision... on a name first.. We agree on Gretchen, Greta for short.... right?" she asked to make sure.. afterall she wasn't all that together at the moment.

Ciaran chuckled, wrapping an arm around Kiara as he looked down at the happy sight. Esis winked at Kiara as she headed to the door chatting with the healer...apparently they were old friends.
"Aye... Gretchen Edda McConn. And what a head of hair she's got..." It was dark, like any other infants but already it seemed to pale in the light. A little pink fist wiggled from the confines of the blanket to open and shut in the air. "Little fighter isn't she now..." he chuckled. "Like her mum." he teased.

Kiara smiled as she looked at her daughter, "Yes, a feisty little thing... my little Greta... you look like your Grandmother eh?" she said with a light laugh as she rested against Ciaran.

"I am sure the Children want to meet there baby sister....surely they can come and visit? I will sleep after..." she said want her other children to see the newest addition to there family.

"Aye..." Ciaran kissed Greta's little cheek as she yawned. "I'll go get them..." Rising slowly, Ciaran went down the hall.

"Rossa! Edan! Yar sister's here." He shouted, glad that the birth had gone well and there didn't appear to be any problems. Esis walked past him as she went back to keep Kiara company.
"Aww, she is adorable." Esis cooed. "You know... Eglantine would kill me if I told you this, but I was there when she was born. This little angel is bigger than her, but the face... its there." she chuckled.

Edan poked his head out of his room.
"Rossa's right there. What da mean my sister's here?" He joked, hurrying to the room.

Going up behind Esis, he looked at his mum and the baby.
"She's all red and wrinkled looking..." he muttered, beaming despite what he said.

Kiara chuckled at Esis statment, " She is beautiful" she whispered

She smiled at her son, "Yes Fire.... she is only a couple minutes old all newborns look like this after they are born..... She will look more pink and less wrinked...... as she gets a bit older" She said.

Rossa poked her 2 year old head out of her bed and climed out. Padding over to her door she got on her tip toes and turned her door knob before poking her strawberry blond head out.

" Daddy?" was all she squeaked.

Edan nodded.
"Oh okay." he smiled. He was happy to be an older brother again. "Why didn't Rossa be like that?" he asked, curious as to why he couldn't remember seeing Rossa all red and wrinkled. Too young to understand the whole adoption process or what it meant, he looked confused.
Esis chuckled, letting Kiara answer her son.

Ciaran scooped up his daughter, carrying her into the bedroom.
"Found a wee rose." he murmured, tickling her. "And thars yar wee sister, Rossa. Her name is Greta."

Kiara smiled slipping her finger into Greta's tiny hand.

"Becuase little fire.... Rossa was already just over a week old when you saw her......bit older then Little Greta is now." she said simply. Rather not going over the adoption thing right now. She would be more then willing to explain adoption to her son when her mind was alittle more clear and alart.

Rossa giggled as her Daddy tickled her and she beamed when she saw baby Greta..

"Greta.." she said saying her baby sisters name slowly.

Kiara smiled at her little Rose, "How do you feel being a big sister now Rossa?" she asked.

"I love Greta" she said as clear as a bell.

Beaming with pride at his little family, Ciaran bounced Rossa in his arms, setting her down on the edge of the bed, so she could see Greta better.
"Aye, darlin, it's good ta be loving yar wee sis." he murmured, his heart melting at her sweet words. Edan looked torn between agreeing with Rossa and asking another question. For the moment he was satisfied with his mama's answer to his question... for the moment...

"Will she look like Rossa?" he asked, the moment passing.

Kiara smiled at Rossa as she blinked her big green eyes looking her new born baby sister.

"She's a is wee baby" Rossa whisped.

Kiara couldn't help but Chuckle, her husbands accent seemed to be rubbing off on there little girl.

She was adorable..

"That is Right Rossie, but she will grow, just like you and Edan" she said softly.

At Edans question she breathed out and she looked at her baby again, "Perhaps.. or perhaps not Fire" she said after all it was not obvious Edan and Rossa were abopted, Edan kinda looked llike her with his dark locks of hair. While Rossa have the green eyes like Eglantine and the blond-ish red hair.

"She will grow up and look like... herself..." she said.

Then she became curious, they were missing someone... Tav......

"Tav... oh thats right he is at hogwarts isn't he?" she said in same soft voice.

Esis chuckled, kissing the top of Rossa's sweet head.
"So adorable." she murmured.

"Aye, Edan, yar sister will look herself. Like ya look yarself." Ciaran laughed, finding his son terribly funny. He had a witty sense of humour, even at such a young age.

Esis looked around as if expected Tav to jump out of the cracks in the floor.
"Oh yeah... so many kids, its hard to keep track." she murmured. "Edwin...Edan...Tav... Ara...Ava.... Rossa..."

"Yes, lass." Ciaran sighed. "But I'll go ta get him and yar mum. Horatio too. Just taking a moment with ya is all."

Kiara smiled, feeling tired but very happy, She smiled brightly at Ciaran and nodded "Thank you Love.." She said.

Little Rossa looked up curious, she want to be able to touch her new baby sister like her Mum. She looked up at Esis with her big green eyes.

"Up please?" She asked so she could sit beside her Mum.

Kissing his wife's temple, Ciaran rose and left the room to find his son and in laws. Esis scooped Rossa up and gently hugged her.
"Oh you smell sweet, Rosie." she giggled, kissing a soft cheek. Setting the child down beside Kiara, she patted her curls.
"Is she gonna cry?" Edan asked, remembering that Rossa had cried.

Tav rushed in, as his Da had given him the news in passing.
"Wow!" he went over to Kiara's side and peered down at Greta. His smile said it all as he proudly watched his little sister yawn.

Kiara smiled as Rossa sat beside her, and let her get a closer look at Baby Greta.

Rossa beamed and lightly touched her baby sisters hand.

Kiara laughed light at Edan's question, "Yes honey, she will cry, She is a baby, she can't talk yet so crying is the only way for her to let us know she wants something..... All babies cry honey." she explained softly.

She smiled brightly again when Tav came in. "Hey little Greta, meet your oldest brother Tav. Tav, here is Greta Edda McConn, your second baby sister" she said leaning her head on the many pillows as she smiled at her new baby girl.

"I got a wee sister Tav" she said as proudly as a two year old could.

Edan wrinkled his nose, not overly happy to hear about the crying.

"Okay..." he resigned himself to his fate, deeming that if she did get cuter, and less wrinkled and red, he would be able to live through crying.

"Hi Greta." Tav whispered, gently touching the baby's fist. He chuckled at Rossa, winking at her. "Yeah, Rossa. Now we both have baby sisters." He had been thrilled to hear that an addition was going to be added to the McConn family and even more happy to hear it was to be a girl. Rossa needed a sister, since he had Edan and Edan had him. Now their family seemed a bit more complete. Six was a perfect number. Not that he'd mind a few more siblings to tease, worry and look out for.

Horatio came in, beaming happily, stuffing his pipe into his robe pocket.
"I'm a grandfather again, I hear." he murmured, walking up to the bedside. "How are you, Kiara?" he asked, concerned when he spotted the oxygen mask. Ciaran had assured him that the labour had gone well... but he wanted to hear it from her.

Kiara looked amused with Edan resigned sigh about the crying.

Rossa nodded happily at Tav, "I like being a big Sister" she said for certian even though she had been a big sister for a total of 30 minutes.

Kiara smiled and nodded at Horatio, " I am fine Horatio thank you, tired... but that is to be expected..... I am happy and relieved everything went well. Meet little Greta, your newest Granddaughter..... hey.. who do you think she most looks like?" she asked curious if Horatio could see the resemblecne.

Edan suddenly grinned, a spark coming to his eyes.
"Me too!" He exclaimed, as Esis helped him sit beside Rossa. Tav chuckled, unable to resist the urge to tease his little brother.
"Your not a big sister..." Edan looked lost for a moment but then shook his his vehemently.
"No, I'm a big brother!" came his emphatic reply. Tav grinned, rolling his eyes.
"Yeah, that's right, Eddy." he winked at Rossa. "Your more correct aren't ya."

Ironically, Horatio didn't see the resemblance... though he did give it his best shot.
"Um... sorry, no I... ah she's got your eyes." Tav snorted.
"Grandpa! Mum has blue eyes!" Horatio shrugged.
"Eyes have never been my best subject." he chuckled. Esis giggled.
Ciaran reentered the room, looking terribly pleased with himself, have procured every person he had set out to get.

Eglantine looked happy as she went to Horatio's side, looking down at the gurgling baby and Kiara.
"How lovely..." she murmured.
"Love goes with a cake, Lenty. Babies are adorable." Esis teased. Eglantine ignored her.
"I am so very sorry I could not be here sooner, love." Eglantine apologized, kissing Kiara's brow.

Kiara let out a small laugh at her childrens antics, they were hilarious together.
Rossa giggled at her brothers, they were just funny sometimes.

Kiara cast a amused look at Horatio as she lightly traced her finger on Greta's cheek. "You'll see it sooner or later" she said softly as she once again lent her head on one of the many pillows.

When Eglantine and Ciaran came in Kiara's eyes sparked happy to see them.

She smiled at Eglantine, "I am glad you made it Eglantine, just in time to meet your second Granddaughter... Greta McConn' she said as she lifted Greta up slightly.

"Greta, meet your Grandmama and Grandpapa" she said.
