McConn House April 10 2024 (Fixed future)

Kiara hummed happily in the kitchen, she had taken the night off form Hogwarts and was making a really nice dinner for her and Ciaran. Ciaran was at work and didn't know she was home, or at least she hoped he didn't, it was the weekend and she brought Tav Edan and Rossa home with her, one for them spend the weekend with there Dad at home and so Tav could do a big favor for her.

Why all the preperation you may ask? Well Kiara was 7 weeks pregnant and doing wonderfully so far, she felt great, and she wanted to celibrate the news with Ciaran first. She needed Tav to watch Edan and Rossa, while she and Ciaran had dinner while she broke the surprise to him.

Placing her hand over her still flate stomach she smiled and continued working on there dinner, it was lovely weather outside for once, which was a meracle on scotland over the spring. She was going to take full advantage of the clear stary skies this one night.

"Tav!" she called could you tell me when your Dad gets in Please?"

((Merci note that Kiara has not told Tav the reason behind all this yet, she is determined to tell Ciaran first))

Tav was already beginning to list off possible reasons from the way his mum was acting...it was a tricky scenario...
But when she called, he shouted back a yes and turned his attention toward the door. His Da wouldn't be returning for at least a little while, and so he opened up his notepad and continued working on a certain Transfiguration essay that was already due...

Kiara floated the finished dishes of food out to a small table on the porch. It was set up really fancy, not unlike how Ciaran had set up the table when he asked her to Marry him.

Stretching she yawned and placed warming charms in the plates and dishes to keep the food hot. She walked back in to the Kitchen still humming her favorite tune as she removed her apporn and hung it up.

Then she travled to her and Ciaran's bedroom and changed into something more apporpriate to a romantic dinner under the stars and half moon.



She then slipped her cloak over it to maximize the Surprise. It had been a while since she had been able the surprise her husband, and she planned to put him through the ringer tonight.

Tav hurried to send his mum the message when he heard his Da sighing up the walk. Apparently he had decided to get some exercise by walking home instead of flooing in.

"He's coming." he muttered, already on his way to get Edan and Rossa out of the way. His parents deserved a quiet romantic meal...

Ciaran opened the door of his home and smiled as his three children hurried upstairs. Wondering what was going on, he began to look for Kiara.

Kiara smiled as she walked out of there room, Tav would have all he needed to entertian his younger siblings. She had food drinks, books and toys up stairs, and of course if something did go wrong she and Ciaran were right down staires.

Unable to wip the smile that had been present on her face all day, she walked up to Ciaran and kissed him.

"Welcome home Love" she said while hugging him.

"I have a surprise for you" she said pulling him into the kitchen, "Close your eyes" she said, her blues eye almost dancing with joy.

Ciaran smiled, wrapping his arms around Kiara's slim waist and kissing her. The long day washed from his mind as he sighed.
"A surprise?" he asked, eyes twinkling with curiosity. His eyes closed and he allowed her to lead him.
Anything she had for him would be wonderful...

Kiara's smile widened if it were possible as she guided him outside on to the porch. She removed her black cloak to reveal the lovely blue evening dress she had got. She thought wonderful she wouldn't be able to wear it in a few more months.

Standand by the wonderfuly set table she laughed "Okay you can open now" she said.

Ciaran slowly opened his eyes, gasping with pleasure as he took in the table, the lovely prepared meal and a ravishingly beautiful woman smiling at him.
"Ara..." he murmured. "Ya are beautiful..." he smiled, hurrying to pull her chair out for hern and dropping a kiss on her temple.

Kiara smiled and leaned into his kiss on her forehead. "Why thank you love" she said. She had missed him so, with work at hogwarts and then finding out she was expecting really got along. She was so glad the moment was finally here, She could enjoy it.

She sighed contently and then smiled agian.

"Come on Love, sit, and look at the dinner I made for tonight" she said at the seat across form her.

On the table was stew, baby carrots and corn, cherry tomatos, roast beef, mashed potatos and beef gravy. All of it made by her.

"What do you think?" she asked happily.

Ciaran seated himself, smiling broadly as he sniffed the aroma of the stew. "It smells heavenly, Ara!" he smiled.
"I love eatin romantic like with ya, but what is this for, lass?" he chuckled, obviously extremely curious.

Kiara smiled enjoying his curiousity alot, she just smiled "Do I need a reason?" she asked innocently.

She wasn't going to tell him out right just yet, she wanted to savor every bit of it she could.

SHe would giving him sutle hints as time progress during the dinner. It was so much more satisfing this way, and plus she want eo see the exact look on his face when he figured it out.

Ciaran chuckled at the "innocence" spread across Kiara's face. He had before baffled her and twisted her with surprises... he supposed being at the other end wasn't all that bad.
"Very well, love." he nodded. "Have yar fun." His stomach was already growling at the sight of the wonderful meal she had prepared...
Maybe a pet had been procured... nay too elaborate for something so simple. Or maybe it was a dragon or something? The thought hardly stayed in his mind...
Had he forgotten a date? An anniversary? Forbid it, a birthday? no no, she wouldn't surprise him with something like that.
There was nothing on the day he could think of...nothing in the week. Maybe she simply desired to have a meal with him without the whining and noise of the children and at times Horatio... maybe...

Kiara continued to grin and laugh before starting to put food on to her plate, " I fully intend to have all the fun I can get out of this Love. But I think you will figure it out soon enough" she said.

The first clue of the night was now on her very plate, she had put much more veggies on her plate the normaly and a little less of the meat.

It was a small hint that may or may not be noticed.

"So Love, Have as much as you want I made plenty."She said. "How was your day? long day?" she asked.

Ciaran, sadly, did not noticed his wife's plate, nor did he notice what was on it. His mind was working overtime without clues.
"Thank you, Ara." he nodded, dishing himself a second helping. "Long day, but good day. Had a wee bit of a scrap with me partner. He wanted ta be eaten an hour earler fer lunch and I put me foot down. You?"

Kiara nodded with a slight chuckle " I see, I am glad you had a good day, dispite the disagreement, you resolved it I expect?" she asked though there was pinch of amusment in her voice.

"My day was long, busy, tiring, but Good. Got up early, to finish paper work, and feed Rossa and Edan, Then I got Tav and we came home , I have been cooking most of the day, along with dealing with Rossa's incomeing teeth, she has been quite fussy today." she said with a faint smile on her face. "But I gave her a very mild childs pain relief potion, she is as happy as a claim now, Tav shouldn't have any problems with that"

Now time to get his mind on it....

"Time has gone by fast hmm? seems like only yesterday you asked me to Marry you.." she said with a smile on her face.

Ciaran listened to his wife's day, nodding when she said Tav shouldn't have any problems. Later on he would check on Rossa's teething, just to see if the muggle device he had purchased that afternoon would help her.

"Aye, that is does, Ara." he murmured, his mind wandering back to when he had knelt in front of her and proposed. A tear came to his eye, one of joy but he kept it at bay by sighing.
"Time is fluid..." he murmured, smiling. "Five happy years."

Kiara nodded smiling, she wouldn't bring up the child they lost... she had been just six months in and her health took a turn for the worse and she went into early labour... there tiny baby of course didn't survive very long after it was born. And she had been quite ill for a few weeks after.

From behind the table where Ciaran couldn't see, she placed her hand over her abdomen, she prayed the potion she developed would prevent that from happening again.

"Yes five very happy years, Our family has grown so much, First Edan, who three already, I can hardly believe it he will be turning four this year. And Rossa is growing like a weed, and is starting to get the hang of talking to..And Tav, fourth year at Hogwarts already, he couldn't make me more proud." she said sincerely.

Ciaran nodded, smiling as he finished chewing some carrots. "Yes, our family has grown..." he agreed, taking a sip from his glass. He couldn't help but feel he was missing something... something important.
Then it hit him and the liquid he had just sipped exited his mouth in a spray. His eyes widened to match the plates and his mouth dropped open.

Kiara blinked and laughed at his reaction, could he had caught on that quickly?

"Well there is aways room for more growth as well.. What do you think love?" she asked with a smile and the bright sparkle in her eyes the seemed to got with that glow.

Ciaran just stared at her...for a full minutes before wiping his mouth with his napkin and swallowing.
"I...I suppose, Ara." he agreed, somewhat shocked. "Will we need a new room?" Not exactly certain what new pet the children had gotten, Ciaran opted to go on the safe side...

Kiara raised her eye brow, "Eventually yes... though I suppose we could have Rossa share her room when she is a bit older..." she said that question.. though she expected it to come up.. was not the first one she thought he would ask.

Ciaran stopped, unsure of what had just been said and not certain how to respond. "Ah I see..." he murmured. "Um, what is it exactly?" Unicorn? he was thinking. And why would Rossa need to share her room... maybe he shouldn't have drunken that firewhiskey with his partner...

Kiara stopped herself from hittng her head at his question, "I knew it... he hasn't got a clue.."

Then she decided to have some fun, as her husband clearly was not following her train of thought.

"it is a girl.. I think, not exactly sure yet though" she said holding in her laughter as she took a bit of food.

Alright...Ciaran thought, gender was important...he guessed. He thought about asking a girl what, but then stopped and the blood rushed from his face.
"Oh Kiara!" he exclaimed, leaving his seat to rush to her side. "A baby." he murmured, all the pieces coming together. "Oh darlin, I'm so sorry. Forgive yar coot of a husband."

Kiara chuckled as she kissed him and nodded, "Its alright love, I was having fun watching you figure it out, I nearly burst out in laughter quiet a few times, it was Very cute" she said with a smile.

Looking down for a moment to collect herself she said softly, "Yes... a baby, I am 7 weeks pregnant" Glad she could finally tell him.
